Arc Flash NFPA 70E Safety Training
Electricity is arguably the most valuable resource we have in our modern society. Without electricity, most of the things we do and rely on on a daily basis wouldn’t be there.
This training is required for anyone who is going to work on any kind of equipment that is powered by electricity. That means HVAC, Elevators, Motors, Pumps, and of course electrical equipment itself. NFPA 70E, the Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace provides all the codes needed to ensure electrical safety. Code 105.3, “Responsibility” reads; The employer shall, which means MUST, the safety related work practices and shall train the employee, who then shall implement them.
In addition, code 110.1”Electrical Safety Program ” reads; The employer shall implement and document an overall electrical safety program that directs activity appropriate to the risk associated with electrical hazards as required in 110.1. (See all entries A through H.) And the code 110.2, “Training Requirements & Documentation” reads; The employer shall document that each employee has received all the training as required in 110.2. (See all entries A through D.) For the past ten years I have been assisting companies, throughout the State of Florida, in developing electrical safety programs specific to their industry and business vertical. Implemented safe work practices and conducted Arc Flash Risk Assessments to help them become fully compliant with NFPA Code.
