40 Year Recertification Inspection
Electricity is arguably the most valuable resource we have in our modern society. Without electricity, most of the things we do and rely on on a daily basis wouldn’t be there.
For those who do not yet know, due to the collapse of the Surfside Condominium back in June of 2021, Miami-Dade County building officials made significant changes to the recertification process. If you’re a Dade County condo owner your homeowner’s association is now required to recertify your building using some stringent new guidelines. Especially when it comes to your “E.D.S.” (Electrical Distribution System.)
The most meaningful change is the requirement to conduct a scan using Infrared Thermography, while the EDS is under a full load. This scan must be conducted by a technician that is certified as a Level II Thermographer. As an electrical safety consultant, I have been commissioning these kinds of energized electrical inspections for the past 10 years. Please reach out to me if I may be of help.
