NFPA 70E Makes Building Owners Responsible
Electricity is arguably the most valuable resource we have in our modern society. Without electricity, most of the things we do and rely on on a daily basis wouldn't be there.
Since the 2015 Edition of NFPA 70E the Code has made it quite clear. "Safety-Related Maintenance Requirements" CODE 205.3 states; the Building Owner, or the owner's designated representative MUST be responsible for the maintenance and documentation of the electrical maintenance.

The Code Is Clear
Since the 2015 Edition of NFPA 70E the Code has made it quite clear. "Safety-Related Maintenance Requirements" CODE 205.3 states; the Building Owner, or the owner's designated representative MUST be responsible for the maintenance and documentation of the electrical maintenance.
What Does That Mean?
Simply stated, if you are the owner of a building or a business, it is your responsibility to make sure the people you put in charge of your business or building know exactly what they MUST do to be in complete compliance with all the NFPA 70E Safety-Related Maintenance Requirements of electrical equipment!
Maintenance Is Not Optional
The electrical equipment in your facility must be properly maintained by qualified personnel according to NFPA 70E requirements. Failing to do so puts employees at risk and exposes the building owner to significant legal liability.
Documentation Required
Maintenance must not only be performed — it must be documented. NFPA 70E Code 205.3 requires both maintenance and documentation to be the owner's responsibility. If you cannot prove it happened, it effectively did not happen.
